What "Jihad" means?

  • Irfan Kas

Can you define the word Jihad?

Yesterday at 9:46am · LikeSeaways Commodities Trading

fight/Qital for the sake of Allah only against the non believers who capture the Muslims

lands & with who fight with MuslimsYesterday at 10:42am · LikeIrfan Kas In Arabic and also in Quran the word "Qital" in Sura Tauba is purely for the

battle or fight. The word Jihad has a very vast meaning. When the word Jihad is used

then "Qital" is just a part of it. The whole meaning of Jihad accomplishes the world

struggle in English. Or you can say ""to work hard for a cause.""" When we use this

word with Islamic point of view then it becomes "to work hard for an Islamic Cause".

If you remember the Hadith in which our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad Sallalaho

Alaihe Wassalam tells his Companions (Sahaba Karam) during the return from a

battlefield, that """We are going towards the ""big Jihad""" from a ""small Jihad"". It

explains that the battlefield is a part of a Jihad but not the whole Jihad. The word Jihad

is multidimensional. It also consists of doing something against our wish for the sake of

Allah because of the teachings of our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad Sallalaho

Alaihe Wassalam. Now read again the words of Hadith and also confirm that the word

used in Hadith is Jihad or Qital. Since the word Jihad makes a great difference in the

meaning, we quote these Ahadith. May Allah help us to understand and guide us to

the right path and give us a vision of the right Path. Ameen.
